Hi there Uhtred.

Nice to see that you are keen to get started already! :)

At this stage I would caution against buying any equipment until you are sure of what you need to buy and also if the stuff you are looking at is worth it. There are so many manufacturers and armourers out there that you can easily become beguiled by what seems to be a bargain until you realise it is totally unsuitable for what you planned...

How about you come along to one of our meetings and have a chat with our members who might be able to give you a few helpful hints and tips? I am sorry that you missed Cannon Hall yesterday, we won't be there again until perhaps next year if we are invited back (here's hoping) but we do have a Society meeting this Sunday, the 17th August in Sheffield at 2pm. It is to be held at the Wisewood Inn, Loxley. Know I know that you are under 18, but that is not a problem if you were to say you were with us.

Anyways, best wishes and hope to see you soon. Let's talk and see where it goes?

Glamis.

Hi Uhtred,

I'm sorry but i would have to agree with Glamis, please dont spend any money until you know what you want. of course it all depends on what you want to do and with whom you want to do it but please take advice first would hate for you spend money on something you dont need or it is the wrong thing.
Keep smiling

Also theres a big event coming up that has different stalls selling different equipment, if you could make it to Caldicot in South Wales on the first weekend of Sept you'd be able to see alot of gear up close and the prices that are being asked for. Just a thought.
